Frequently Asked Questions
What type of files do you need for my project?
The highest quality work comes from high-resolution, or “press quality” PDF files. Your design team should easily have the ability to export their work in this format. Your print file should also have all fonts embedded into the document, or uploaded alongside your design file.
How do I make sure my images are crisp?
Your computer screen can play tricks on your eyes. An image file at a lower dpi can look great on your computer, but unless the image is at least 300 dpi, you stand to get blurry or poor results on the final print.
How should bleeds and crop marks be set up?
A design with proper bleed settings helps give your item that edge to edge, complete coverage. For most projects, we recommend a bleed of .125”, but it might help to consult with our team on any unusual project. Crop or trim marks help our team know where a cut should be made, and should also be included in the document.
Can you edit my existing art file?
We have the software and expertise to modify an existing art file and update it with the latest information. In order to make edits, it is helpful to receive the entire project file and associated images or fonts included.
Can you provide creative or graphic design services?
Our team at Moeller can handle some of your graphic design needs. However, if your project has complex design needs or you simply do not know where to begin, we prefer to pair you with one of our design partners and let their experts take your concept from idea to impact.
What type of printing process makes the most sense?
Determining between a digital or offset printing process requires understanding a few variables that could impact cost and quality. Generally speaking, the lower the quantity of prints required, the more economical digital printing becomes. Additionally, the inclusion of any variable data components makes digital ideal.
For projects with a significant quantity, or needed more complex features, offset printing will offer the most consistency and quality over the duration of fulfilling the entire project. It is important to note that our team will work to provide these options and answers for you.
Can I approve my project before the entire run?
For convenience and speed, we send digital proofs to your email for your approval. Most customers are able to review and approve with very little hassle. For those customers who are concerned about unique aspects of their project, we welcome the opportunity to review a physical proof with you.
How long until my project is complete?
Every job is unique, therefore we cannot provide a generic turnaround time. Some projects are more complex than others, and have certain variables such as drying time that are out of our control. If your project is needed by a specific date, we suggest letting our team know immediately. We can create or modify a plan that can deliver your project on time.
What size project can you handle?
We have not encountered a job that is too big, or too small, in nearly 90 years of business. No matter the size of your project, Moeller Printing is the solution for you.
